I'm a simple emigrant and I am at the epicenter of the pandemic

Actually, it sounds scarier than it is. All of Europe is panicking, because while in Asia everything is going down, for us it’s only just beginning. Starting today, most companies in Germany have switched to mandatory home office. Quarantine, as such, isn’t in place, but clubs, bars, cafes and restaurants are already quietly closing on their own initiative. It’s understandable — even those who aren’t panicking are trying to avoid mass events. For this reason as well hotels aren’t doing great right now, but they’re still operating in the usual mode. On store shelves, everything that can be stored for some time has been swept off: pasta, rice, any canned foods, frozen semi-finished products and flour (though I hadn’t noticed locals’ passion for baking). For inexplicable reasons, all toilet paper and paper towels disappeared, and there are many videos online of people even fighting over it — I haven’t seen that in real life yet. I think the reason for this, besides the usual panic, is also fake rumors that supermarkets would operate two days a week for a couple of hours. Regional and international communication is gradually closing. Germany has already restricted access to people from a number of countries, but hasn’t closed its borders yet. My friend who works for the German railways says that soon, most likely, most of the routes will be canceled. Public transport is still running as usual, but from the place where the driver sits to the end of the first door the cabin is taped off with tape so that passengers can’t get too close. Official sources say that although the spread of the virus will happen anyway, there is no need to panic, and for now everything is “within normal limits,” if you can put it that way 😅. And a few days ago there was news that in some German laboratory they reached some success in creating either a vaccine or a drug, and now Mr. Trump is trying to lure those scientists to the USA or buy the development. P.S. I’m alive and well, among my friends, acquaintances and friends of friends there are no sick people. May it stay that way. And you stay healthy! #Ordnung
