I'm a simple emigrant and I love surprises, but not always
The deeper I go into the woods, the more I buy only what I need. Even during COVID I managed not to get used to endless online shopping. But recently, while waiting for parts for a costume, I was getting parcels practically every day. Mostly, they were from Amazon, because time was tight, but a couple of lemons also arrived from Chinese sites. Oh, these Chinese sites. We ordered the same skirts three times in a row, and all three times they arrived differently. Not noticeable in the photos, but somewhere the lining is different, somewhere the fabric is slightly different. It feels like they started sewing them as soon as they received the order. And there, whatever scraps were left — those were used. A couple of pieces of fabric were literally pulled out of the moth’s mouth. One day a package arrives for me, the one in the photo. To remind you, my friend ordered everything for me. By the way, this isn’t because I’m such a lazy exploitative person. She did this according to a list for all participants. So, I immediately filled her in on all the packages. I also sent a photo of this, saying, “what kind of luxurious packaging is this?” I open it — and there are a bunch of dubious items of all sizes, none of them mine. The centerpiece: kids’ leggings, a skirt, and a sweater. I’ll post a photo of the contents in the comments. I draw a little circle for my friend, like, which body part is this for and at what moment in the parade. She was as shocked as I was, and doesn’t want to admit that she ordered these gifts for me. On the package, meanwhile, my name and address. I peel off the label, and there’s another name and the address of the home where my other friend lived. Now my working theory is that at some point I sent this package into the great cycle of packages in nature, and it has come back to me. I have no idea what to do with all these things; throwing them away seems odd, so they just lie in the bag, looking at me reproachfully. If anyone wants them — contact me! Have you ever received random packages? #curiosities
