I'm a simple emigrant and I love techno
German techno clubs are considered the best in this genre, and this year Berlin techno and clubs were even included in UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List! I have been to such clubs in both Berlin and Frankfurt, it’s always a lot of fun. At my favorite party, tourists weren’t admitted; I wasn’t a tourist at the time, but my girlfriend and I were still worried. At the entrance she handed her German ID first, to mask my residence permit. This is done so that tourists won’t film everything on cameras, because the cultural difference would be noticeable to a visitor from any country, I think. There really is freedom of self-expression there. The club itself is a huge hangar with two floors and several DJs, techno everywhere, but varied. There, no one judges how you look or how you dance, everyone just hangs out, relaxes, and has fun. We danced the whole night all the way to 9 a.m. Before, I had never stayed in clubs that long, but there simply is no fatigue there (and no, we didn’t consume anything). And for the raves we left pretty quickly too, because such parties can easily last all weekend. We would have kept dancing longer if it weren’t for the free breakfast in our chic hotel. Leaving at that time is a separate pleasure: everyone is already working, and you’ve just come out of the party. Such a special kind of walk of shame. Have you been to techno parties? Drop your favourite tracks, you can even share non-techno ones 🌚
