I'm a simple emigrant, but I rarely check prices at the supermarket
A couple of days ago I saw at the REWE supermarket (kind of like the Pyaterochka network in Russia, but a bit more expensive) a new stand with portable price scanners. Pretty cool: you walk into the store, grab a basket and one of those scanners, and you can completely independently do all the shopping and price checks. Also in this store there have long been several self-checkout tills installed, which, aside from the problem that customers can choose fruits of a more expensive brand and have them scanned as cheap, work well. They also have a convenient app with free delivery from 50 euros. It seems the day is near when theyβll do away with workers altogether. And which do you prefer: a supermarket with live staff or when everything is automated? #frankfurt
