Post: I suspect that Santa's reindeer are outsourced

I'm a simple emigrant and I suspect that Santa's reindeer are outsourced

Today in Germany Nikolaustag or St. Nicholas Day, the very one that is considered the prototype of Santa. Children leave shoes by the door in the evening, and in the morning they find there chocolates, tangerines, and nuts. The local life hack: the cleaner the shoes — the more sweets. Yes, Nikolaus brought it to me, and who else would bring it?! The symbols of Christmas are already all around us. One of the traditions of German children is to watch a French cartoon — Le monde secret du Père Noël (“The Secret World of Santa Claus”). It has been watched by generations because it was on TV every December for years. In the plot, Santa has an entire underground base, elf-spy agents and modern gadgets, and the main character is his son, who learns to run the Christmas empire and save the holiday when something goes wrong. A mission impossible, Christmas-style. So, this cartoon has been translated into a bunch of languages; for example, in Russian it is called “Secret Service of Santa Claus,” and in English “Santa’s Secret World.” And only in German did they produce the masterpiece «Weihnachtsmann & Co. KG» — that is, “Santa and Company, a Limited Liability Company.” Because even if you’re Santa, you have to register a company. And if you’re three years old and you just wanted to watch cartoons — not so fast. Wipe your runny nose, sit down, now we’ll learn how to create a company, register a legal entity, pay taxes and social contributions. Well, there wasn’t enough time for the cartoon, but never mind; the main thing is that they found an accountant! Doubts overtake me: was Santa always a kindly giver of gifts? Or did he just want to neatly “optimize” taxes through charity? And there’s one more big question: if Santa has a company in Germany, are his reindeer under a labor contract or freelancing? And he should not forget to file a tax return! #holidays
