I'm a simple emigrant and studied the new Schufa
Germany's Big Brother Schufa, here it wrote that this is, finally listened to the wishes of the working people and recently opened access to the details of calculations. I looked at my rating, and what it's made of. Honestly, they'd have been better off leaving it hidden behind a black box. So, on what I lost points: 1. Bank account: I opened my very first German account 7.5 years ago, and if I had opened it 20+ years ago – I would have gotten the highest score. 2. Living in one place: in my current apartment I have lived for two and a bit years; for the highest score you need 20+ years. 3. Credit card: I don't have one, but if I had had it for 15+ years – the highest score. 4. Installment: its absence is 9 points, and having a fully paid one is 19. 5. Mortgage: if it's not present, then there are no points, and if it exists – 55 points. In addition, there are such criteria: – problems paying on any contracts – okay. – new loans, installments, or lines of credit – okay, but that's three separate items; why duplicate, why not differentiate the points within each category? – identity verification – you could count points for downloading the app. – requests to open credit cards or bank accounts – firstly, it's the third time already about accounts and credit cards, and secondly, why would a request – this immediately be something negative? – and others – some mystical requests from some companies regarding your purchases or something else. Doubtful, but okay, we understand that 1/10 of them had to be saved for "other." So, basically, what we have. The ideal citizen in Schufa's view is a fairly grown-up person who doesn't move anywhere and doesn't change anything in their life. Just imagine that this Schufa is the scourge of everyone, especially migrants. After all, when we arrive, we have no history, and contracts do not exist in principle. Practically for sure, you won't be rented an apartment without this Schufa. And it turns out that their expert, deep assessment of us as risky is built on such criteria. It never inspired much trust before either, but the rating was saved by feigned secrecy. But now I don't even know what to do; all I can do is apologize that I wasn't born 30 years ago in Germany and didn't open an account at Sparkasse the moment I opened my eyes. #Ordnung #useful
