If on the way to the store you’re told about a meeting planned for next month, it’s considered that you’ve immediately logged it in your calendar and they don’t intend to remind you about it. This also includes the awareness of living within the law: here you don’t need many police officers watching for rule enforcement. Everyone understands that it’s better not to do something than to do it and pay a huge fine.
