I'm a simple emigrant, and to get to know people better, I think you just need to drink with them
Especially when it comes to Germany and the Germans. Seriously, one of the questions at the interview was about my attitude to alcohol, and in the photo there was a stockroom in the office. Here there is the proverb “Kein Bier vor Vier!” or literally “no beer before four,” and the standard workday goes until six. Although, when I speak about alcohol as an integral part of local life, you have to understand that the drinking culture here is completely different, but about that next time. For now, I need to talk about the desire to plan everything and, by no means, not change plans. Alles zu seiner Zeit — everything in its own time. If on the way to the store you’re told about a meeting planned for next month, it’s considered that you’ve immediately logged it in your calendar and they don’t intend to remind you about it. This also includes the awareness of living within the law: here you don’t need many police officers watching for rule enforcement. Everyone understands that it’s better not to do something than to do it and pay a huge fine. And I’m a simple emigrant, living my usual life, and I’m surprised everyone by how one can constantly improvise with good planning. #emigrant_happiness #work
