I'm a simple emigrant, but a whole bus will come just for me
In Germany, the public transport network covers the country well, at least in my opinion. But there's a catch: especially in small towns buses very often do not run on schedule. Instead, they come on demand. I've used it many times. Here's, for example, how it works in the town of Scheyern: to order transport, you need to call or book it online, usually at least half an hour in advance. In some towns the bus may pick you up at any arbitrary time, and somewhere you can only order in slots of the official timetable. Moreover, there are buses that run on weekdays as usual, but on weekends you have to call them. It was exactly in this situation that yesterday I stood for about 10 minutes at the stop, until I found the words Anruf Sammel Taxi on the timetable sign with the bus numbers. In this case the call number is written there as well, on the sheet with the schedule. It can also be called Rufbus, Dial-a-Bus, On-Demand-Bus, etc., and a bus, a minibus, or even a car may arrive. But they all operate like ordinary public transport, with no extra charges. Google, by the way, doesn't know much about this, so it may happily plot a route for you with the promise of a bus arriving in a minute. Spoiler: the bus won't arrive, and you, used to transport delays, will think "soon, soon, another five minutes and it will arrive." Get stuck in reels β detach yourself, and there the vendors of the neighboring kiosk have already started their second shift. I called yesterday, but the bus would have arrived only in an hour, so we took a taxi and picked up two more guys from the stop. It turned out they didn't know about this phenomenon and had been waiting for the bus for more than an hour. Moreover, we initially wanted to go by taxi, but decided to go to the stop after all. Now it's clear why β to make sure these guys wouldn't sit there for another three hours. Therefore study the place you live in, and share new knowledge with others, even with random people at the stop: perhaps this is exactly what they need. And if not β whatever, a second of embarrassment and we move on! #useful
