Post: I accept the conditions dictated by the local way of life

I'm a simple emigrant and I accept the conditions dictated by the local way of life

Before, for me, checking only the email inbox was like a standard procedure: if I was at the computer, it was always open; if not, I would check in the morning and evening. But from the very first days here I understood that I would have to get used to regular mail. The thing is, for Germans for some reason physical mail seems to be a much more reliable way of conveying information than electronic. All social (and not only) services communicate with clients through regular letters. That is, you fill out everything that's necessary and bring the documents, and the results are practically always received by mail; if you're lucky β€” quickly, but sometimes it can take longer. For example, after I registered, I was supposed to receive a letter describing the TV and radio tax, but two months have passed and I haven't received anything. The same story with the invitation to submit documents for the residence permit. But here I, at least, am sure that the coveted envelopes haven't been lost somewhere due to the carelessness of postal workers, they simply haven't arrived yet. All that's left for me is to patiently wait and check the mailbox in the morning and evening. #Ordnung
