I'm a simple emigrant and I brought three more German films
The weather today isn’t making us happy, but German cinema is quite something. This time I gathered three films that I really liked a lot. Each of them is a comedy, but with meaning. This is probably the first selection of German films from me that I would recommend to everyone to watch in any language available to you. 🎬 One for the road (2023) - a film about how cheerful drunken nights with friends grew into a real addiction. The main character suddenly finds himself at a point where he no longer controls alcohol – now alcohol decides where and how he will behave. A story about fighting with oneself, the support of friends, and trying to rebuild life. The story drew me in and I believed it. 🎬 100 Things (2019) – best friend-entrepreneurs argue whether they can give up all their possessions and live without succumbing to the trend of consumerism. Behind the humor and the joy of modern technology are reflections on dependence on things and on what really makes us happy. 🎬 My Blind Date with Life (2017) – a film based on a true story. A guy suddenly loses 95% of his sight, but he still fights for his dream and gets into training at a five-star hotel. For me this film is also about faith in humanity, mutual help, kindness, and acceptance. About how sometimes you need to switch off rationality and simply believe in and support someone’s dreams. Especially when it’s a simple wish to be “normal”. Have you watched any of this? In the comments I will write the film titles in Russian. #madeinGermany
