I'm a simple emigrant and I love to laugh
Surely you've heard stereotypes about the German sense of humor, or rather about its absence. But I wouldn't say that: my girlfriends are quite the laughers. It's amazing, but even different cultural experiences rarely get in the way of us understanding each other's jokes. A few days ago I found at home a forgotten book of folk culture—the one in the photo—and I thought, well, who doesn't love old-fashioned jokes and punny wordplay. I chose three random jokes; here’s the level of humor 😁 There are three in the office. One of them works. Who are they? Two clerks and one fan! Two police officers found a corpse near a gymnasium. One asks the other: “Hey, how do you spell ‘gymnasium’?” The other thought for a moment and suggested: “Let's take him to the post office!” Jonas sits by the sewer and pokes at it with a stick. A passerby asks: “What are you doing here?” “Well, my jacket fell into it!” “Will you actually wear it again?” “No, but my sandwich is in the pocket!” Well, how do you like it? It’s a pity you can’t insert laughter into a post like in sitcoms 😅 Write in the comments the page and line, and I’ll send you more jokes; we’ll basically riff off the book! And let me know if you want the jokes’ texts in the original. #madeinGermany #language
