Put more simply, by buying eggs you support a certain attitude toward animals: it's nice to think that the hens lived well, perhaps even luxuriously — you pay a little more money. Sometimes, in light of this, friends may even quarrel, because the quality of the cheapest product is normal, but the farm conditions are not guaranteed. For example, my friend argued about this for a long time, urging people to buy products a bit more expensive, but with a calmer conscience.
