Post: I continue to tell about a trip to Italy

I'm a simple emigrant and I continue to tell about a trip to Italy

At Lake Garda we went to a restaurant in Italy for the first time. We wandered into Villa Cian, drooling, anticipating exquisite dishes and the tastiest pizza, and what do we see? Pizza with French fries and sausages. In Italy, man!! And besides that a full menu of strange dishes, more like leftovers from a neighboring restaurant, and everything costs a lot: about €20 for a main course. I thought the reason was the target audience — German tourists. But it turned out to be simpler: Italians really love such pizza. In the morning we didn’t eat there — we made pancakes in the camper and enjoyed breakfast with the views. My mistaken belief came from the fact that everyone there could speak German, while English was hardly spoken. The thing is that historically South Tyrol (the province where we were) has always been under the influence of various German-speaking groups. In 1919 the region officially became Italian, and in 2001 the European Union granted the Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino areas, which are located partly in Austria and partly in Italy, an additional joint status within the EU. Now German is one of the official languages there. Then we went to the town of Limone. A calm and quiet resort town; I recommend strolling along the promenade, visiting the local castle, and perhaps visiting the Limone Museum. I couldn’t understand it, because some doors were open, some closed, and inside — no one. We wandered in on our own, walked around for five minutes, and headed to Sirmione. A town with a similar pace of life; the main sights are the ancient Scaliger Castle and the Grotto — the ruins of the villa of the Roman poet Catullus, who died in 54 BCE. The archaeological park with an olive grove, covering 20,000 square meters, is described as a magnificent example of private development. These towns are good because you can completely cover them in a day, and it’s cheaper here to stock up on food, souvenirs, and goods. In more touristy and larger cities everything will be more expensive, but that’s in the next post. #World_trips
