I'm a simple emigrant and I found the best way to travel under current circumstances
A friend and I set off to conquer Italy in a camper van. It’s a van that my friends converted themselves, and now it has a sleeping space, a sink, and even a place to cook. We left Munich, went through Austria, heading toward Italy with absolutely no travel plan. But it was clear that we didn’t want to drive 11 hours, so we chose among cities in northern Italy. Fortunately, the roads in Europe are excellent, so we reached fairly quickly and without difficulties. By the way, to drive a van in Germany you don’t need an additional category of licenses, but we went further and drove without a license at all. Because my licenses can no longer be used in Europe, and my friend had lost her card seven years ago. But stupidity and courage are our motto. Our route turned out to be this: Lake Garda - the towns of Limone and Sirmione - Verona - Venice - Merano - Tyrol. We picked up the vehicle with a full tank and returned it the same way; in the end, we spent only €108 on fuel, which you can also consider as accommodation since we slept inside. A useful tip for the future when we can travel again: it’s best to refuel in Austria, because there is a special taxation system there, and the most expensive fuel will be in Italy. For example, diesel prices are €0.91 in Austria, €1 in Germany, and €1.26 in Italy. We found free parking, including overnight, in the apps park4night and Stellplatz-Radar. Very convenient: there are markers indicating whether you can park large vehicles, the availability of toilets and trash bins, and reviews and ratings help you learn real and up-to-date information. Another app that helped us a lot is Splitwise; here we kept track of all expenses, very handy for group trips so you don’t have to remember who paid when and how much and who owes whom. This was my first trip to Italy; I’ll tell you more later. Have you ever been to this country? #World_trips
