I'm a simple emigrant, and I could live in Swiftkirkhene

That's what Gelsenkirchen is called now, of course, only for Taylor Swift's concerts. After her tour, the city will return to its former name. By the way, this was an initiative of a schoolgirl that the local authorities decided to support. What do you think? In general, Gelsenkirchen is a pretty interesting city; you've been hearing about it a lot lately. There used to be heavy industry there, which is why it was hit hard during wartime. Then the industry never fully recovered, and now the city, apparently, has decided to pick a new niche for itself—tourism. To make it clear, in Gelsenkirchen there is the only Lenin statue in western Germany, which was installed in 2020 (???) year. Also this is one of the dirtiest cities in Germany, and the poorest. Therefore, to me it seems strange that four matches of the Euro 2024 football championship were held there, and Taylor Swift will perform there soon. And also, it is there that Germany's best goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and the superb attacking midfielder Mesut Özil were born. So, shall we go there on our next vacation? #German_trips Photo: City of Gelsenkirchen
