I'm a simple emigrant, but that's for now

After the new law was finally adopted and implemented locally, I finally had the opportunity to apply for German citizenship while keeping my Russian one. And I recently did that. The package of documents required for me turned out to be surprisingly simple: - a form with personal information about myself and my parents and a few consents, that you are for all the good and against all the bad; to be honest, there were no, specifically, questions about the Russian Federation; - passport, local residence permit, and one photograph; - birth certificate with a certified translation; - certificate of knowledge of German at B1; - certificate of having passed the Life in Germany test; - work contract and one payslip; - statement from the pension fund to confirm continuous residence. In each federal state the application process differs; with us I first sent all copies by regular mail, and already received a confirmation letter. In it they don't even bother to write any deadlines; they simply say: "we will now look at your application for a very long time, and please do not write to us or call us in the meantime." Next I will need to bring the originals and go through a mini interview, then wait again and that's it. Naturalization is understandable and not difficult, but the whole process can take a couple of years, and I hope in my case this is the maximum term. And how are you doing? Tell us your life news :) #useful #Ordnung
