I'm a simple emigrant and I finally got vaccinated
In Germany, four vaccines against the coronavirus have been recognized: Johnson&Johnson, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Pfizer/BioNTech. However, recently the single-dose J&J has stopped being considered suitable for full vaccination. For myself I chose Pfizer. The process in Frankfurt is ridiculously simple: you go to any doctor without an appointment and hope that there won't be a queue of thousands of people. For the first shot you need to buy a yellow booklet – the vaccination certificate, probably the local analogue of the Russian vaccination certificate, but in any case mine is at home in Tyumen. The booklet costs 5 euros; usually you can pay for it only in cash – probably the hardest part of the whole story. For the second vaccination you are already given an appointment. After two weeks have passed since the last shot you need to go to any pharmacy with your booklet and ID, and obtain an electronic certificate. You need to scan it in the app to obtain the coveted QR code. I have no problem taking time off work, but both shots were obtained with absolutely no problems or discomfort. And while I was delaying vaccination, a new coronavirus strain — Omicron — surged through Europe, and the desire to be in crowds was not there at all. Moreover, in Germany it's no longer uncommon for entry to require both vaccination and a test/booster. But in any case, freedom is now much closer! And how is the coronavirus situation and vaccination in your country and city? #frankfurt
