I'm a simple emigrant, and today is Labor Day

In Germany, May Day is a state holiday and a nationwide day off. Its essence is the same as in Russia: work, peace, May. Usually in Frankfurt on this day there are demonstrations and parades organized by workers' unions, where workers express their position, draw huge banners, and may even put on a small performance. And in Berlin, in the liberal Kreuzberg district, Labor Day turns into a big street hippie party; there are plenty of photos on the internet. Unfortunately, national holidays in Germany are not moved to weekdays if they fall on weekends. But it's still great to have at least one 'May Day holiday', as you understand, there aren't any others here. Photo from today’s celebrations in Frankfurt by Sergen Kaya #holidays
