I'm a simple emigrant and I passed the German exam
At the end of November I was taking a German exam at level B1. I couldn't even blink, and in the second half of January I received the long-awaited results: a perfect score with just a couple of points missing! To be honest, this level is quite easy for me, but I still took a few days off to prepare. I'm not going to tell you how to learn a language — there is no magic pill; you simply need to study at your own pace and in your own style. Instead, I'm sharing how to become more confident before the exam. Don't hide from German. If you live in a German-speaking environment, start all sorts of dialogues in German. For example, I wouldn't even rewind an advertisement to listen to natural German and try to understand what they're selling me there. Also I asked a colleague to speak to me only in German all November. If you don't live in such an environment, then look for ways to surround yourself with German. At a minimum, look for a study partner or conversation groups, listen to at least 5-15 minutes of German radio. Yes, on the Internet. No wonder Rass Hanneman tried. Take on practice exams. This will help you get used to the format specifically. When I know what to expect, I can distribute my energy properly and decide when to focus on the exam and when to relax my brain. I wholeheartedly recommend Deutsche Lehrbücher — a simply wonderful channel and a chat with free German-language textbooks. I found there exactly the book with test variants of the exam that I needed. I went through all the practice exam variants from it and only then started to feel much more confident. And in the end, the shortest piece of advice: don't delay. If you were all afraid or lazy to sign up for the exam, or perhaps were waiting for some sign — it's time. I myself went to take the exam only when I needed it for a citizenship application, but now I understand that if I hadn't dragged my feet, I could have already obtained the C1 certificate. So go ahead and good luck! #useful #language
