I'm a simple emigrant and I know why marijuana was legalized
Remember, I wrote, that several laws were passed, including allowing to have two passports and the legalization of marijuana? All that speculation about the aims is nonsense. I’ve finally figured out the real reason. And no, it's not extra money in the budget or populist measures ahead of the elections. The real reason is that in Germany a lot of things happen so slowly that you simply can't stand it with a clear head. And weed slows perception a bit, and you’re already on the same wavelength with German life. Have you heard about the German autobahns? They are famous worldwide for the absence of speed limits. That's where all of Germany's speed has gone. I often say that Germany teaches humility, and I even wondered whether it would break me. And I firmly state: NO. I'm still not ready to pay who-knows-what, still seeking justice, and I still sometimes tremble at how slowly cashiers move, how long you have to wait to get a doctor’s appointment, how in fast food on a shift there are one and a half people – they take orders, they shape the burgers themselves, and they go to hand them out. And they do all this slowly. Ray Kroc would turn over in his grave if he saw how McDonald's operates here. There should be a golden mean in everything. Sundays without shopping or a work-life balance — great. I don't need everyone to work 24/7, but during working hours I’d like to see both quality and at least a little speed. Otherwise it's too hard to believe that a measured life in Germany is a conscious choice, not just plain laziness. #emigrant_happiness
