I'm a simple emigrant, I would even say a simple mortal

In two months, even with my iron immune system, I somehow managed to get sick with everything one after another, so I had to get acquainted with how the health care system works. When applying for a work visa, you must provide standard travel insurance for a couple of weeks. But after you arrive, you need to obtain a German health insurance card, which becomes active from the first working day, although you receive it after 2-4 weeks. It covers the costs for standard doctors, some dental services, and allows you to purchase prescription medicines at a special price. The main difference is that there are no neighborhood clinics by residence to go to in case of something. If something is wrong, you first need to visit a GP, and they will prescribe the necessary medicines if the illness is within their competence, and if not, will issue a referral. You can go to any doctor; you just search online or ask acquaintances for a GP and go to them. The referral works the same—it designates only the 'type' of doctor, and from there you choose exactly whom to see. And, of course, don't forget that an appointment can be delayed for a month, or even two. But if you simply don't go or book, you won't have to wait at all. I'm a simple emigrant: I brought medicines with me from Tyumen, and I'm treating myself with them. #здоровье
