I'm a simple emigrant, and I'm already feeling spring in full swing
When else to dress up if not in spring! But, as usual, we need to: refresh and not break the bank. This time I turned to professionals and asked the Frankfurt-based stylist Irina Korunkova to share a clear formula for a spring wardrobe and various shopping tips and life hacks. Here are her tips. To make the spring wardrobe work like a capsule, and for pieces to coordinate with each other and form stylish looks, we need a system. Step 1: Build a minimal set for spring. Ira laid out a concrete list of items, I’ll leave it in the comments. From them you should choose 15–17 pieces that you really feel comfortable in and that fit your lifestyle. Step 2: Pick the right combinations. A key rule of “stylish economy”: each item should coordinate with at least three things in your wardrobe and not pull you into additional purchases. Step 3: Choose colors that won’t shock, but won’t blend into the crowd. Of course, everyone has something that suits them, but the general rule is to choose a palette of 5–7 shades. I’ll also leave a palette example in the comments. Step 4: Shop smart. Distribute your budget correctly; for example, tops and T-shirts can be cheaper, but invest in what should last a long time. If you notice you’re wearing a particular item constantly, maybe it’s worth getting a second one on sale. A few more life hacks that save money and nerves: 💜Keep an up-to-date shopping list in your phone notes. That way you’ll always be ready if shopping mood hits. 💜Don’t hesitate to add accessories to your outfits. They will diversify combinations and give the impression that you have a large set of items. 💜Watch for sales; mid-season sale is waiting for us at the end of March–early April. They discount winter items and partially release current collections. Don’t forget to prepare your cart in advance, and also subscribe to newsletters from your favorite brands. And here are the stores where you can buy all this. Just promise you won’t buy everything before I get there! Uniqlo Base: T-shirts, long sleeves, shirts, light knits, light jackets. This is the capsule’s foundation. COS Architectural cut and form. Jackets, trenches, trousers, midi dresses, quality knits. Take 1–2 accent pieces, the rest – on sale. Massimo Dutti Calm “expensive” classics. Trench, coats, trousers, shirts, leather items. A good capsule for city and office. & Other Stories Feminine dresses, skirts, shoes, bags, trendy jewelry. An excellent brand for finding a focal point and bright elements. Zara The latest runway trends at reasonable prices. There are stylish and high-quality capsule collections as well, but it’s best to catch them online. Sandro / Maje Parisian style with unusual details. The price range is higher, but you can wait for discounts. Wertheim Village An outlet for finding outerwear, quality basics for the office, shoes, bags, and status wardrobe pieces. It’s better to go with a list, otherwise the outlet will win 😁 Ira did a great job, didn’t she? If you want more such clear schemes, capsules, and life hacks, check out her channel Stilouette.
