I'm a simple emigrant and I'm slowly starting to learn what Berlin is famous for
This weekend I again spent in Berlin; I had only been there the second time in my life, but we had already definitely formed a connection with this city. The first time most of my time there went to work, I missed my train by one and a half times—not late, but simply missed it, standing nearby, and this time I managed to dive a little into the underground. There were no time-friendly train tickets available, so we had to take the bus, a little over seven hours one way. Of course, not as comfortable, but still bearable. The city greeted me with a halted metro, because someone somewhere jumped in front of a train, and I ended up taking a taxi, the fare of which was higher than the ticket itself — time management is everything to me. Spending seven hours of sleep over two days, we still didn’t manage a ton of things, and our "we’ll do it next time" will probably be good for another hundred trips, I think. Of what we did: we took a bus tour of the city and finally walked along the Berlin Wall with its famous graffiti, and also listened to various stories about how life was for divided families and stories of people how they organized escapes to the other side, naturally risking their lives, at the Berlin Wall Museum. Another highlight of the trip was the Griessmuehle club. We arrived there on Friday night and left on Saturday at nine in the morning. When we were leaving, there were lots of people who hadn’t planned to go anywhere yet. And I can relate to them; I don’t even remember how that time passed, we left completely not tired and if it weren’t for breakfast, luring us back to the hotel, we would have stayed longer. A large venue with two main halls with different music and several more lounge areas, a back yard, swings, benches by the canal (too dangerous for people in that state) — all of it was wonderful, but the cherry on top is the people. Enter this geolocation into Instagram and you’ll understand everything yourself. Starting with glamorous outfits, ending with extreme or semi-present ones. People of all kinds and orientations; I can’t even imagine how much of them were drunk, smoked, and so on that evening. Those €16.50 we paid just for entry definitely were worth it. I will definitely go back there. By the way, I want to reassure those who think this is scary and dangerous: during the entire time we never felt any danger for ourselves. In general, I recommend it to everyone. #German_trips
