I'm a simple emigrant, and I'm still getting to know the place where I live

Not long ago I learned that Frankfurt is not even the capital of Hesse (the state in which it is located). The states — that's the local administrative division, like regions or provinces here. The capital of Hesse, however, is Wiesbaden. It's a small city in the west, about 30 minutes from my home by regional train. Although the population here is less than 300,000, it is rightfully considered the capital. In the early 20th century it was here that there were more millionaires compared to the rest of Germany, and during hostilities this place became the administrative center, because Frankfurt itself, for example, suffered and was destroyed much more. The city has long been famous for its thermal springs, which in the past were visited by members of the elite. Here too is a casino where Dostoevsky gambled away his savings, about which he wrote in a letter to his wife. This is a fairly small but beautiful city with diverse buildings. One part of it is washed by the Main River, another by the Rhine, and on the third side there are small mountains (up to 1000 m). There is a lot of greenery and it's very pleasant to simply stroll through the streets and squares. If you’re in Germany — definitely drop by :) #German_trips
