I'm a simple emigrant and I'm still looking for an apartment
What a terrible process this is. First and foremost, the lack of options is annoying. I didn’t expect that three-bedroom apartments would be far fewer than two-bedroom ones. Honestly, 90% of the options I see, in my view, couldn’t have been chosen by anyone voluntarily; some boxes from under the fridge feel more spacious. And buildings from 1900 are far from romantic. You sometimes go to a viewing, and the building reeks of such antiquity that living there in the era of a home office and not wanting to hang yourself would be something of a fantasy. More or less decent options get deactivated within 15 minutes after posting: during that time they receive dozens, even hundreds of inquiries. On Saturday we went to view one of the two apartments I liked, and the agent simply didn’t show up. To be precise, I think he did come, but among the first viewers there was already a potential client, and the agent decided to bail, not calling or answering the phone. Another guy, the owner, told me every day, "let’s arrange a viewing tomorrow," and after my next question about when to come, he said: "oh sorry, we’ve already rented it." And this isn’t even the fabulous “diamonds” for pennies, but rather quite expensive apartments, completely empty, but in good neighborhoods. The only ray of light in all this process is the bot @WohnungenDeutschlandBot on Telegram, developed by my friends. #Notsponsored it’s really wonderful: by the given filters it searches for apartments, updating the feed of the main application for housing search every three minutes, and immediately sends your message to the author. This really increases your chances of being among the first inquiries. Now they’re developing the bot, adding new features and resources, and in the meantime they promise everyone who comes through me a week of free usage (it’s enough to mention the channel name: I’m a simple emigrant). Since I’m still in the search, tell us in the comments and share tips on how you found your dream apartment! #useful
