I'm a simple emigrant, and in Frankfurt there is a Carnival parade 🎭

Here it's called Faschingsumzug (фашингсумцуг). It's a parade of various clubs or communities. Some of them simply dress up, others build installations, the third features an orchestra and almost all hand out some treats. And the spectators dress up, dance, throw confetti and catch sweets right from the floats. Germans party to the max, bidding farewell to winter and letting go of sins before Lent. In every city there are their own traditions, but the essence is the same – loud, bright and fun. Children come with bags, I'm sure their haul is better than at Halloween, and adults discreetly get local cider or schnapps, i.e., another kind of alcohol. 😏 Catch photos from Frankfurt's parade! #holidays #frankfurt
