I'm a simple emigrant, and in Frankfurt there is a carnival procession 🎭

Here it's called Faschingsumzug (фашингсумцуг). It's a parade of different groups or communities. Some of them simply dress up, others build installations, a third are represented by an orchestra, and almost all throw some tasty treats. And the spectators dress up, dance, throw confetti, and catch sweets right from the floats. The Germans are having a blast, bidding farewell to winter and releasing sins before Lent. In every city there are its own traditions, but the essence is the same: loud, bright, and fun. Children come with bags; I'm sure their haul is better than at Halloween, and adults quietly pour local cider or schnapps, i.e., another alcoholic drink. 😏 Catch photos from the Frankfurt parade! #holidays #frankfurt
