I'm a simple emigrant and I've already forgotten what it's like to work in an office
Since March 2020, my company moved to a home-office setup, and to this day we still haven't been required to come into the offices. Probably having remote workers and the possibility to always work partly from home helped the team not feel a big difference in productivity depending on where we work. But recently we needed to meet in person to discuss an important issue. There's nothing to be done; we had to go to the office. First, half of the colleagues by then had already moved, and everyone was getting there from wherever they could. Second, the day before we were sent a memo with a bunch of points. The main rules: take a quick test at the entrance, you can sit at your desk without a mask, but go to pour yourself tea only while wearing it, and, of course, keep a certain distance from each other. By the way, eating in our kitchen was also not allowed. There were pluses too: very comfortable chairs and desks in our office, with adjustable height; you can work standing if you get tired of sitting. After working on my one-and-a-half monitors, two big screens seem like a miracle. And in general itβs nice to work with colleagues, in company, so to speak. But only for one day; after that, back to remote work, happy to work in stretched-out T-shirts. Do you prefer remote work or in the office? #work
