I'm a simple emigrant and recently returned from my first business trip

In Russia I traveled a lot, but a German employer sent me on a trip for the first time. Our company has a budget for employee development, which we can use, for example, for trips to conferences. So I did! Naturally, I combined this with getting to know a new country and went to the largest conference in Europe for testers (hello, it's me) in Vilnius. Once again I’m convinced that our Tyumen team are the best organizers. The ticket cost 345 euros and for that money I received a badge on which I wrote my name with a marker. And that’s it! No cultural program and no getting to know the city. True, on the first day there was a film screening, but random, not related to the event topic. By the way, I recommend you look at cinemas as a venue for conferences — I really liked that idea. I know, you’re wondering what about the food: yes, there were coffee breaks and lunches there, thanks for that. Some speakers turned out to be interesting and shared information and books useful for work. Vilnius itself is small, population of only 600,000, but contrary to my expectations there is something to see there. You know, this is the standard “X - city of contrasts,” but here it’s even worse. Vilnius combines five in one, if not all ten. You look and you see in one place wooden two-story houses, Soviet constructivism, European Baroque, stone buildings from the 16th century and the newest business centers made of glass and metal. Despite the dislike of Russia (and it’s present) there almost everyone speaks Russian, and in restaurants there is a menu in Russian. I’ve gotten used to the fact that people around understand my language and you can’t calmly go and talk about odd things over video calls. The mentality of people in Vilnius seemed more like Russian, and after Germany with cold people — it’s like a balm for the soul. My new acquaintances are already waiting for me to come again in the summer, and I like this idea. I also recommend you visit this small but proud Lithuania sometime.
