I'm a simple emigrant and the environmental situation in the world worries me
But it worries conscientious schoolchildren even more, for it is they who will live in that very future. And these kids led by the 16-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg organized #FridaysForFuture β school strikes to draw attention to environmental issues. This is one of the major actions within the global movement of teenagers known as "the School Strike for Climate." I hope that at least a large portion of these marching kids is truly concerned about the future of the planet, a future of which they see themselves as a part. By the way, Greta has already participated in rallies in various countries, spoke at the UN World Climate Change Conference in Katowice, and even was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. I don't know how many people turned out on the streets here in Frankfurt, but it looks pretty solid. And would you go? #frankfurt
