I'm a simple emigrant, and after some changes in Russia I've completely quit smoking
During the time that smoking was banned in public places in Tyumen, and dad got rid of this bad habit, I have become completely pampered and forgot what it feels like to be constantly in a cloud of tobacco smoke. Now it seems strange to me when people smoke right in my face, even though before it was normal. Despite the fact that Germany became the first country where, at the state level, programs to reduce the number of smokers were actively implemented, here almost 30% of the population still smokes. It feels like at least half of them are in Frankfurt. The bans are in effect here, but with caveats: you can't smoke in airports and train stations, but in special places (separated simply by lines on the floor) you can. In restaurants too it’s forbidden, but only if food is being prepared—that means in almost all bars you can. In places where children stay for long periods it’s also forbidden, but in large shopping centers IT’S ALLOWED. I haven’t understood this logic at all. There are plenty of children there and even children's carousel rides, but that doesn’t stop anyone. The entire food court is crowded with people who just sit and smoke (sometimes with a cup of coffee). It’s completely impossible to walk around, especially if you’re out of practice. And you go along with your new clothes, and they’re already completely smoke-stained. You’ll have to get used to this again, the main thing is not to actively join in :) #we_dont_like
