Post: I constantly study the local culture

I'm a simple emigrant and I constantly study the local culture

To adapt to a new culture, everyone needs their own amount of time, and for me, for example, very little. But some things take longer to form in the mind than others. For example, in recent months I often wonder why, in a country whose products are a sign of high quality, the quality of services is so incredibly low? Surely you've heard about German cars, vacuum cleaners, cleaning products, and films far more for the good than the bad. And you’ve probably also seen terrible stories about how poorly beauty salons are in Europe or about the high prices for telecom and Internet here—not even for a truly unlimited plan. But why is that? I have a few hypotheses. First, laws strongly protect business, so the ordinary person is always wrong. Fine, at least the business feels comfortable. Second, German culture is so cold and closed that all communication with customers happens with no real desire to understand and help. Accordingly, the seller is too disengaged to understand the customer's need, and the customer is too indifferent to help develop the service in the right direction. Third, the habit of discussing everything in court and of necessarily having a couple of insurances, including third-party liability and for a lawyer, has led to the fact that until you come with your own lawyer, no one will even bother to talk to you, let alone explain anything. Well, it's time to find such a service for myself as well. It's so interesting: looking around, seeing, thinking, understanding and making mistakes. For me this feels like a challenge: can I stay as indifferent as I am, or will Germany teach me humility, and I will simply keep paying for random things just to get them off my back. Maybe someday I'll tell stories here that, like worms after rain, lie in wait at every turn. And for now, write in the comments about your experience with German products/services and your thoughts on why this is so. #emigrant_happiness
