I'm a simple emigrant and I have finally made progress in applying for citizenship

For all newbies, I quickly bring you up to speed. Since I have been in Germany for quite a long time, there isn’t too much bureaucracy in my life. The most important bureaucratic matter: I am in the process of naturalization, or, more simply, I am obtaining local citizenship. Here here I described how the whole process looks and what documents are needed to apply. I sent the copies at the end of August last year, then quickly received confirmation that the documents had arrived, with a request to simply wait. And last week I finally received an invitation to the second step: to show originals. The appointment itself is for November. It turns out the first stage took them 14 months, and that's only the verification of copies of documents in Frankfurt!! It’s a good thing I didn’t give birth or move during that time, otherwise they’d have to notify them, and there I don’t know how many more months they would tack on to making these changes. Next I will have to come to them with originals of all documents: passport, birth certificate, residence permit, language certificate and Life in Germany certificate, and also a work contract, pay slip and a pension statement. At the meeting they check that everything is in order, that I am who I am, and that my certificates are not forged. I’ve heard that some places conduct a thorough interview with an issued list of questions for preparation, but in Frankfurt there doesn’t seem to be such a thing. Let’s see, will they ask me anything at all. By the way, the appointment time was set for 8 a.m. on Monday, just to keep life from seeming all honey. They even asked not to be late, in bold and with an exclamation mark, although after waiting for a year and a half I basically hadn’t planned to. But actually the earlier appointment has its own advantages as well, for example, you won’t have to wait. The only thing is I don’t know whether they’ll take a photo there right away. I wouldn’t want my photo on the new documents to reveal that it’s Monday morning. I’m really glad that, at last, the process has moved from a standstill, even though further long months of waiting lie ahead! And how are you? #useful #Ordnung
