I'm a simple emigrant and I love to walk
There's a railway track in the park near my house, and I used to think it was a relic left from an old railway that is no longer in use. But a few days ago, on another walk in this park, I saw two trains packed with people, traveling along these rails. It turns out that the Frankfurter Feldbahnmuseum organizes small excursions for children and adults on these trains once a month. In November, the “Day of Driving” will be held on the first Sunday of the month, November 5. The full schedule can be viewed here, it has already been published for next year. The express starts from the stop at Rebstock Park; tickets can be bought there as well. A single trip costs 8 euros for adults, 4 for children, and 16 for a family of two adults and one child. A full circuit on such a train takes about 20 minutes; in that time it reaches the museum itself and a couple of other stops. In my opinion, it’s a great pastime especially for children, whom you can mix into your walk; the main thing is to dress warmly, because the trains there are old-style, without glazed windows.
