I'm a simple emigrant and I pay attention to whatever comes along

In Frankfurt I kept coming across small photographs of random people. They are pasted all over the city in the most unpredictable places and on all surfaces. The photos have no text, graffiti, or captions nearby—absolutely nothing. And most often in them I saw one interesting young man in a cool hoodie and a seventh-grader's moustache. Over the six months I've been here, I've tried to unravel the mysterious story of this guy: what had he done to deserve such widespread reproduction and dissemination? I thought perhaps he needed help, or it was viral social advertising, or maybe all these people were famous, just not to me. And yesterday, finally, my new local acquaintance revealed the secret behind the popularity of the people in the photos, and of that particular boy in particular. It turned out that this boy was running for the school's president, and the photo was taken for campaigning. Then someone decided to have fun! They printed a thousand copies of that very photo and pasted them all over the city. Funny. I don't know whether it's true or not, but it's the only explanation I got, and it seems to come from someone who knows. So I suppose that after that it just spread like a flash mob and that's why a bunch of other random people's photos appeared. Finally the mystery is solved and Nancy Drew can sleep easy. And you? A funny prank? Would you like to see your photo all over the city? Mine hung up once, though only in one place, but it was big. #frankfurt
