I'm a simple emigrant and I'm learning German

Earlier the language seemed to me the same as in stereotypes: sharp, rude, completely illogical, as in those videos where a butterfly in five languages sounds the same, and in German it sounds like a life sentence. But after living in Germany and studying the German language itself, my perception changed greatly. In every language there are many things that are not described by rules, but require memorization. If you don’t take such moments into account, the most difficult aspects of German cease to be so insurmountable for a Russian-speaking person. For example, one of the main problematic points is the cases, but what native speaker of a language with six cases would fear German, in which there are only four, and actually only three are used actively? Unfortunately, I haven’t devoted much time to studying the language, although now I really want to know it. And I don’t mean the everyday ability to speak and understand; rather I mean the academic language, about deeper insights. Besides using German for fluent communication or advancing one's career, I’m attracted to a huge number of works by outstanding psychiatrists written in this language. It would be wonderful to be able to read them in the original! I hope soon this will be at least to some extent possible. Are you studying a foreign language right now? What motivates you to do so? #language #useful
