I'm a simple emigrant, and I've finally made progress in applying for citizenship

For all newcomers I quickly bring them up to speed. Since I've been in Germany for quite a long time, there isn't too much bureaucracy in my life. The main bureaucratic matter: I'm in the process of naturalization, or, more simply, obtaining local citizenship. Here here I described how the whole process looks and what documents are needed to apply. I sent the copies at the end of August last year, then quickly received confirmation that the documents had arrived, with a request to simply wait. And last week I finally received, at last, an invitation to the second step: to present the originals. The appointment is for November. It turns out the first stage took them 14 months, and that's only the verification of copies of documents in Frankfurt!! It's a good thing I didn't give birth or move during this time, otherwise they'd have to inform them, and there I don't know how many more months they'd tack on to making these changes. Next I will have to go to them with originals of all documents: passport, birth certificate, residence permit, the Life in Germany certificate, and also an employment contract, a payslip, and a pension statement. At the meeting they check that everything's in order, that it's me and that my certificates aren't forged. I've heard that some places conduct a thorough interview with a prepared list of questions for preparation, but in Frankfurt there doesn't seem to be such a thing. Let's see if they'll ask me anything at all. By the way, the appointment has been scheduled for 8 a.m. on Monday, just to keep life from seeming too easy. They also asked not to be late, in bold and with an exclamation mark, although after waiting for a year and a half I basically hadn't planned to. But in reality the earlier appointment has its advantages as well, for example you won't have to wait. The only thing is I don't know whether they'll take photos straight away there. I wouldn't like for my photo in the new documents to reveal that it's Monday morning. I'm very glad that, finally, the process has moved off the dead point, even though there will again be long months of waiting! How are you doing? #useful #Ordnung
