I'm a simple emigrant, and advertising in general doesn't piss me off
In Germany, advertising on flyers is still alive and thriving. Restaurants, sports clubs, supermarkets, and even religious organizations constantly stuff their leaflets into mailboxes. In general, I'm not bothered by it; before, I would even deliberately read this junk mail to practice German, and sometimes good discounts would come along. And those who are irritated by it can stick a "Don't mail advertising" sticker β and the leaflets will stop being stuffed. But there is one type of advertising that really annoys me. It's 'pseudo-letters'. This, despite the fact that Germans prefer physical mail for all important communications, and that you need to check the mail constantly. I'm still waiting for an invitation letter to submit the originals for citizenship. I keep opening the mailbox, seeing a letter there and reading the information in the little window with hope. And there is something like "To all lovers of the cookie cake and wooden shoes." Seriously? On the one hand, it seems creative, but on the other hand, mimicking something important is underhanded. I'm sure there's a separate cauldron in hell for such marketers! And how do you feel about advertising in the mailbox? #we_dont_like
